With new regulations being put in place, you might be wondering how you can still enjoy quality family time. Of course, the most obvious one is having a movie marathon, but after a while, even this can be boring.
Here are five family activities away from the TV to get the most out of your time at home.
Make a Box Town out of Old Boxes
We don’t care how old we are; making a box town sounds awesome! Somehow, every house has a collection of boxes. Instead of throwing those boxes out, use them for fun-filled family activity.
Let your family’s creative side out and design their own section of the town. Whether it’s a cozy neighbourhood or a wacky city street with skyscrapers, this family activity will be loads of fun!
Make a Pinata
This one is perfect since Halloween just passed. Add some extra fun from the Halloween spirit and create this simple pinata design with the whole family. When you’re done, fill it up with some Halloween candy and break it open to get the delicious goods.
Scavenger Hunts
Scavengers hunts are a great way to spend some time with the family. They’re fun, rewarding, and you can make it as easy or challenging as situated for family members. Scavenger hunts are also easy and cheap to make. All you need is some good old fashion paper, a pen, and little trinkets to go on this wild adventure!

Start a Hobby Together
This is a great one for both young children and teens! Whether you’re teaching your kids a hobby you already have or learning a new one altogether, the whole family can have fun!
Whether your (or your spouse’s) hobby is playing an instrument, drawing, painting, woodworking, knitting, reading, writing, or whatever, take the time to include the whole family. You might get a few eye rolls at the beginning from your kids, but the quality time together is worth it!
For your younger children, learning to draw, paint, cook, bake, photography, playwriting and performing, and even yoga are things that you can easily start together.
You can obviously do all of those things with your older children, but you can include online classes and even go into more advanced areas. Try knitting, candle making, jewelry making, writing, origami, learning a foreign language, and anything that piques your interest.
You can also make it a give and take activity. If you have older kids, take an interest in their hobbies and let them teach you their hobby.
