Meet with John
Len Dubois Trucking is always on the lookout for great new drivers to join our fleet. We’ve just recently expanded our operations and have a great new facility with more room for more trucks. Now we’re on the lookout for great company drivers and owner operators to expand our team. The first step in this is to meet with our driver recruiter, John.
Len Dubois Trucking believes that in order to have a quality relationship with our drivers – trust and understanding must be established right from the beginning. This is why our recruiter doesn’t make big promises that can’t be kept. His sole purpose when recruiting is to be open and honest about the work, lanes, miles, opportunities and company values. Our Driver Recruiter is also our Driver Safety and Compliance Manager. As our Safety Manager, he is someone you will work with on a regular basis. He’s not a recruiter who you never see after you sign on with a company.
John has been in the trucking industry for over 25 years. He knows what it’s like to be an over the road driver, that’s where he got his start in the industry. After 9 years of driving, John moved into dispatch allowing him to participate in trip planning and dispatching trucks. This unique combination, as well as his management degree in transportation, has given John the skills he needs not only to deliver on Driver Services and Compliance but also to serve as our recruiter.
The Honest Truth About Working with Len Dubois Trucking
Len Dubois Trucking has been built with a family-friendly, driver first culture that has helped us develop long-lasting relationships with our driving fleet. Turnover is a big part of the trucking industry and is one thing that both drivers and companies like to avoid. We know that it is not easy to work for companies that don’t take you into account, and that has been the foundation of our company. Putting the driver first, as much as possible, helps keep our fleet happy, rolling down the road, and earning a great living. Not too long ago, we celebrated with eleven drivers who have driven one million miles with us and we look forward to adding some names to the list this year.
Here are some more honest truths about working with our team.
#1 You will be able to maintain a healthy home-work balance
At Len Dubois Trucking we believe in and support a healthy work/home balance for all of our drivers. Who determines what that balance is? Well, for the most part, it’s the driver. We do expect our drivers to run at least 10,000 miles per month which still allows for ample home time every 7 to 10 days depending on the load you have been assigned. When there is something coming up in your life that you don’t want to miss, all you have to do is book the time off. We do our best to accommodate your needed time off by altering your run schedule accordingly. Don’t believe us? #2 You’ll Earn a Great Living
Whether you are a company driver or an owner-operator, you will earn a great living as part of our team. We don’t offer traditional bonus programs (A.K.A. The Claw Backs). Instead, you get paid for the work that you do. For company drivers, this means getting paid per mile, per drop, per pick, per border crossing and more. Plus, we’ve even initiated a one-cent premium for all U.S. miles to try to lessen the burden of the exchange rate and Our mileage rewards program pays you an additional $0.03 per mile (paid on all miles) simply for driving 10,500 miles or more per month. As we expect our drivers to take 10,000 miles per month, this reward is paid out just for doing your job.
For Owner Operators, you have the ability to choose a percentage or per-mile contract, paid tolls and scales, option for deductible buy down, and access to our company fleet cards for discounts on fuel. Owner operator’s are our partners and we invest in your success.
#3 Regular Lanes with Regular Inbound and Outbound Freight with Regular Customers
While Len Dubois Trucking does not have “dedicated runs”, we do have regular lanes with regular clients for both outbound and inbound freight. This means less spot market freight and better scheduling & predictability. Those relationships with regular clients is one of the reasons we’ve been busy and growing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The variety of freight we carry delivers all over the U.S. and from coast to coast in Canada. We work with our drivers and take into consideration the lanes you prefer and the ones you’d rather do without. We can’t promise that you’ll never go to places you’d rather not, but we can promise that we’ll keep it to a minimum and, most importantly, we’ll keep you moving. After all, if you’re not moving you’re not making money. 80% of our miles are U.S. miles.
