C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) and FAST (Free and Secure Trade) are partnerships between the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and various parts of our economic supply chain, including the trucking industry, to ensure security and expedite legitimate trade.
Len Dubois Trucking is part of the C-TPAT program; as such, we are required to adopt and maintain certain processes and procedures to meet our obligations in these programs to secure the supply chain.
These procedures and requirements affect how we operate. Our hiring practices, drivers enroute routine, and our facility and equipment need to be in compliance with the C-TPAT program. It’s a team effort every day.
Over the past decade we’ve upgraded our facility. We have a secure and well-lit lot. Improvements to our building includes a secure drivers room and security cameras covering the lot.
We are required to have procedures to document customs and border crossing documents and seals. Our drivers and partners need to follow inspection procedures to ensure the integrity of the equipment and the loads.
New hires are need to have background checks. The under carriers and third party carriers we partner with need to meet a certain criteria and follow security procedures.
At all times drivers and dispatch need to have clear communication about load information and their progress. Drivers are required to report any tampering with the truck or anything suspicious with the load or shipper/receiver.
Securing the supply chain is vital to our economy. The C-TPAT program is a voluntary program, in which we participate, because it’s important and we appreciate the efforts of our team of professionals.
