1,000+ paid truck parking spaces coming to Chicago area – Austin, Texas based Outpost is poised to open a 30 acre lot with room for more than 1,000 truck parking spaces in West Dundee, Illinois by late October.

Montana Building New I-90 Rest Area to Expand Truck Parking – Montana State Department of Transportation is refurbishing a pair of eastbound and westbound rest areas on Interstate 90 near Billings to increase truck parking, add a new weigh station and enhance security.

String of new truck stops on I-10 SE Texas corridor bringing hopes of economic boom – The four new rest stops will soon be built along I-10 between Beaumont and Orange, Texas, reports 12 News Now. At least one of them is expected to be open by the end of October 2024.

Outpost to Open More Than 1,700 Truck Parking Spaces – Outpost will offer more than 1,700 additional tractor-trailer parking spaces at four sites near key U.S. logistics hubs.

California travel center with over 250 truck parking spaces to shut down, according to report – The TravelCenters of America truck stop located off I-5 at 3524 South Highway 99 W in Corning is closing.

Two new Sheetz locations to open in NC & VA during September – Located in North Carolina and Virginia, each store will offer high flow diesel fuel and diesel exhaust fluid for commercial trucks as well as a truck scale and free parking spaces available for overnight parking to truckers.

Surrey, B.C. approves two temporary permits for truck parking – In response to the ‘persistent shortage’ of truck parking spaces in Surrey, B.C., the city council plans to establish two new sites to address the issue.

More than 500 violations discovered during ‘Operation Airbrake’ rest area blitz in Arizona – The Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) released the results of a recent commercial vehicle brake inspection effort that took place at interstate rest areas.

Canadian Roadcheck blitz puts one in three vehicles out of service – Canadian enforcement teams placed 33.2% of inspected vehicles out of service during the international Roadcheck blitz that was conducted May 14-16, compared to a 23.2% out-of-service rate in the U.S.

Roadcheck finds U.S. vehicle violations slightly higher than North American average – Commercial motor vehicle enforcement personnel in Canada, Mexico and the U.S. conducted 48,761 inspections during this year’s International Roadcheck in May, finding 13,567 vehicle, 2,714 driver and 163 hazardous materials/dangerous goods (HM/DG) out of service (OOS) violations, and placing 9,345 commercial motor vehicle combinations and 2,290 drivers out of service.

Inspectors placed 23% of commercial vehicles out-of-service during 72 hour Roadcheck blitz – The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) released the results from the 2024 International Roadcheck inspection campaign.

Construction on infamous Colo. mountain curve begins after two serious semi wrecks – The Cascade Curve on US Highway 550 in Colorado is just two miles north of the Purgatory Ski Resort between Durango and Silverton. Since April, two semi truck crashes have occurred along the curve, prompting officials to seek permanent safety measures to avoid future incidents.

Colorado troopers warn truckers about expanded mandatory chain law, I-70 left lane lane restrictions – The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) issued a reminder to the trucking community about major changes to mandatory chain law and I-70 left lane restrictions for commercial vehicles.
