Truckers rank top ten truck stops for 2025, top honor goes to Ohio service plaza – “On January 23, Trucker Path released their annual ranking of truck stops based on in-app ratings and reviews over the past 12 months. The top honor this year went to the Ohio Turnpike Tiffin River Service Plaza located at mile marker 20.8 Eastbound on the Ohio Turnpike.”
Truck Parking Availability System launches for I-10 Arizona rest areas – “The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) announced the launch of a real-time system to inform truckers about truck parking availability at I-10 rest areas in the western and southeastern parts of the state.”
Love’s to add 20 new stores in 2025; includes 1,000 parking spots – “Love’s Travel Stops has big plans for 2025, adding numerous new stores, remodeling many others, increasing the number of truck parking spaces available and upgrading its food offerings.”
West Virginia Turnpike travel plaza reopens with expanded truck parking – “West Virginia Governor Jim Justice announced the reopening of the Beckley Travel Plaza located along the West Virginia Turnpike.”
Ohio rest areas along I-76 reopen after closure in 2021 – “The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has reopened a pair of rest area locations after they were closed for nearly four years for renovations.”

One week per year wasted sitting in traffic, study finds – “Americans waste one week a year sitting in congestion, according to a report released Monday from INRIX, Inc., a transportation data and analytics company. The 2024 Global Traffic Scorecard identified and ranked congestion and commuting trends in nearly 1,000 cities across 37 countries.”
DOT increases fines for regs violations to reflect inflation – “The Department of Transportation this week published a final rule announcing increased fines for its agencies, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration — an annual move required by the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act, as amended in 2015.”
AMTA launches campaign to address distracted driving – “The Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) is launching a three-month campaign to combat distracted driving in the province’s commercial transportation sector and among the motoring public.”
Cargo theft occurring in more major metropolitan locations – “According to Overhaul, southern California experienced a 5% decrease in theft activity in December. However, it appears cargo thieves had just shifted their locations.”
