At Len Dubois Trucking, safety isn’t just a priority – it’s our way of life. As a safety-first company, we’re committed to ensuring our drivers are prepared for all inspections and safety checks throughout the year. In 2025, the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) will once again conduct several key safety enforcement initiatives. These inspection blitzes help make the roads safer for everyone, and they offer an important reminder to maintain compliance with all safety regulations.

Here’s what you need to know about the 2025 CVSA inspection blitzes and how Len Dubois Trucking’s commitment to safety keeps us ahead of the curve.

International Roadcheck: May 13-15, 2025

The International Roadcheck is one of the largest and most significant safety events on the calendar. Over 72 hours, CVSA inspectors across North America will be conducting inspections of commercial motor vehicles and drivers at weigh stations, inspection sites, and even randomly along roadways.

What to Expect:

  • Inspectors will be performing the North American Standard Level I Inspection, which is a comprehensive check of both the vehicle and the driver.
  • This includes reviewing driver credentials, Hours of Service (HOS) compliance, seat belt usage, and alcohol or drug impairment.
  • Vehicles will undergo inspections of critical safety items such as brakes, tires, lights, and cargo securement.

At Len Dubois, our drivers are always expected to maintain high safety standards and compliance with federal regulations. Our fleet is regularly inspected, and we provide ongoing safety training to keep our drivers informed and prepared. International Roadcheck is a great opportunity to showcase how committed we are to operating safely at all times.

Operation Safe Driver Week: July 13-19, 2025

Operation Safe Driver Week is an annual enforcement initiative focusing on identifying and correcting unsafe driving behaviours. This blitz targets not only commercial motor vehicle drivers but also passenger vehicle drivers who engage in unsafe driving around large trucks.

What to Expect:

  • Officers will be monitoring for dangerous driving behaviours, including speeding, tailgating, improper lane changes, distracted driving, and failure to use seat belts.
  • Both commercial and non-commercial vehicles are subject to enforcement.
  • In addition to citations, law enforcement will take time to educate drivers on safer driving habits.

Safe driving is at the core of Len Dubois Trucking. Our drivers receive ongoing training to maintain focus on safe driving practices, including defensive driving and adherence to speed limits. With our safety-first culture, we aim to be part of the solution to make the roads safer for all motorists.

Brake Safety Week: August 24-30, 2025

Brake Safety Week is crucial, as brake-related violations are among the top reasons trucks are placed out of service during inspections. In addition to the week-long enforcement blitz, an unannounced one-day brake safety initiative could happen at any time throughout the year.

What to Expect:

  • Inspectors will be conducting brake system checks to ensure components are in proper working order. This includes the air brake system and brake lining/pad conditions.
  • Any trucks found with defective or out-of-adjustment brakes could be placed out of service.

Brake safety is a non-negotiable priority at Len Dubois. Our maintenance team performs routine inspections to ensure our trucks are in optimal condition before they even hit the road. Drivers are trained to check their brakes regularly as part of their pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reducing the risk of violations during Brake Safety Week and beyond.

Len Dubois Trucking: Always Prepared, Always Safe

While these CVSA inspection blitzes are crucial for the trucking industry, they also highlight the importance of consistent safety practices year-round. At Len Dubois Trucking, we pride ourselves on being proactive when it comes to safety compliance. By ensuring that our drivers and fleet are prepared for these events, we reinforce our commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards.

Whether it’s the International Roadcheck, Operation Safe Driver Week, or Brake Safety Week, we’re confident that our team will continue to demonstrate the exceptional safety practices that keep our drivers – and everyone on the road – safe.

Safety Tips for Drivers:

  • Stay Prepared: Always conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Stay Informed: Keep up with regular safety training and stay aware of any regulatory changes.
  • Stay Compliant: Ensure your Hours of Service are up to date and follow all regulations to avoid violations.
  • Stay Safe: Practice defensive driving and avoid distractions while on the road.

By embracing safety every day, not just during the inspection blitzes, Len Dubois Trucking sets the standard for excellence in the industry.

Let’s continue driving safely and making the roads safer for everyone in 2025!
